What is Pickleball? The net court game "Pickleball" uses lightweight paddles and a plastic, perforated ball. A "slowed-down" version of tennis that places the emphasis on coordination, control, patience and strategy rather than strength and speed. The game is easy to learn and can be a valuable development aid in eye-hand coordination, exercise and motor skill training. More and more senior sports tournaments, community centers, parks and recreation departments are catching on to the game, particularly on the West Coast where there are some 45,000 players and 5000 courts. Salemtowne is fortunate to have one of the best courts and some of the best players in the Pacific Northwest. The following pictures are of Salemtowne Pickleball players at the Oregon State Games and our own facility in Salemtowne. Click here for photo album.
